The Drink

This is what I drink every single morning, it is my own concoction that is the result of years of research and planning.  It began of course with my mother, who would drink a very simplified version of this when she was pregnant with me.  The benefits of this drink are that you get most of your daily nutrients and vitamins early in the morning in a cost effective way, while avoiding things such as high fructose corn syrup, sugar and other nasty chemicals/preservatives.

The best way to start making this drink is to go to your local health food store and purchase the following ingredients (spices are optional but very beneficial):

  • Brewer's Yeast (2 scoups or 2 tablespoons)

  • Hemp Oil (1 tablespoon)

  • Flaxseed Oil (1 tablespoon)

  • Bee Pollen (1 tablespoon)

  • Blackstrap Molasses (2 tablespoons)

  • Cayenne Pepper (a dash – optional)

  • Cardamom (a dash – optional)

  • Turmeric (a dash – optional)

I typically start my morning by pouring no more than 4 ounces of water into an empty 12 ounce glass.  I then put two scoups of Brewers yeast, a tablespoon of Hemp and a tablespoon of Flaxseed oil, a teaspoon of bee pollen and two tablespoons of Blackstrap Molasses.  I then take each spice and shake some onto the top of the drink, this always depends on how much zest I am willing to take on that day and then I start stirring the drink.

After a about 30 seconds of stirring, the consistency of the drink has reached a point where I can start to drink it.  Sometimes the blackstrap molasses do not fully dissolve and mix with the other ingredients so in that case I simply add more water and continue to stir.

This drink is a powerhouse of nutrition and contains an extraordinary amount of iron, which is often lacking in many people, especially in women of child-bearing age.  Did you know that the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of iron for women age 19 to 50 is 18 mg? Well, if you consume this drink you will get  the following nutrition:

  • 5.2mg Iron (Remember guys need 8mg and girls need 18mg each day)

  • 35% of your RDA for Potassium

  • 16g Protein (for you body builders out there)

  • Niacin (50%)

  • Vitamn B6 (60%)

  • Phosphorus (80%)

  • Folic Acid (50%)

  • Riboflavin (70%)

  • Thiamin (80%)

  • Vitamin E (24%)

  • Omega-3 fatty acids (16g)

  • Omega-6 fatty acids  (12g)

P.S. This drink is disgusting, it doesn’t taste good. I’m sure you have heard Arnold Schwarzenegger and other body builders say this, but “pain [or drinking something disgusting] is weakness [or toxins] leaving the body”
